A wee word about your wedding photos… This is som A wee word about your wedding photos…

This is something I talk to my couples about from their very first enquiry.

Your wedding photographs.

When your wedding day is over, the cake will have been eaten, the flowers will wilt, the décor will be packed away and your beautiful dress will probably spend the rest of its days hanging in the wardrobe!

But your photographs? They’re yours to keep.

They’re the memories you can look back on for years to come, the moments you might have missed in the whirlwind of the day, the laughter, the happy tears and the people who were there to celebrate with you.

Over the years, I’ve seen some stunning wedding photographs taken by incredibly talented photographers here in Scotland. I’ve also seen some that, if they were mine, would leave me feeling disappointed.

And that’s such a shame because you can’t go back and do it all again.

Now, I know weddings are expensive, and budgets only stretch so far. I get that!

But please, when choosing your photographer, don't make price your only consideration.

Look at their full galleries, not just the handful of gorgeous pictures on social media. Find a style you love and someone whose work makes you think, “YES, I want my photos to look like that!”

You don't have to book someone for the whole day, either. Maybe you just want the ceremony and family photos, or perhaps you want them there from getting ready right through to the dancing. Most photographers offer different packages, so have a chat and see what works for you.

And please don't leave booking them until the last minute! Once your venue and date are confirmed, get in touch. The good ones get booked up quickly, especially for popular dates.

Your wedding day doesn't need to be the most expensive or fanciest day ever. But when it's all over, your photographs are one of the things you'll have to look back on, share with family and treasure for years to come.

Your wedding day lasts a day. Your photographs help you relive it for a lifetime. ❤️

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of marrying Last week I had the absolute pleasure of marrying two beautiful young ladies at the stunning #kinkellbyrewedding in St Andrews.

Although, if I’m being completely honest, the day nearly started with me being the one needing rescuing… 😂

I went to see the girls before heading to the venue, they handed me the legal paperwork and the rings as I arrived.

Important things, you might think.

Things a celebrant should probably remember to bring.

Did I?

Nope…I left without them.😂

Thankfully, the girls realised before I got too far and called me to come back for them.

Kinkell Byre was absolutely stunning; the girls were an absolute delight and, despite the weather doing its very best to throw a complete tantrum, none of it mattered because these two were just so completely and utterly in love.

There was laughter, emotional moments, lots of love, and two beautiful ladies making some very important promises to each other.

Congratulations, you two.

It was such a joy to be part of your day, and I hope married life is every bit as beautiful as the two of you are together. ❤️

Once upon a time… A beautiful young Spanish lady Once upon a time…

A beautiful young Spanish lady bought herself a teddy wearing a kilt, simply because she thought he was cute.

Little did she know that one day she would marry a handsome young Scottish man, so naturally, when the big day finally arrived, Teddy had to come too!

And come he did, all the way to their beautiful September ceremony at @logiecountryhouse, where friends and family travelled from near and far, including Spain, to celebrate with them.

It was intimate, it was full of love, and there was a wee Scottish teddy sitting onthe sidelines with a grin on his face as though he knew what was going to happen when she bought him.

Sometimes the smallest things really do turn out to be part of the story. ❤️

And now, I get to share some of the gorgeous photographs from their day, taken by the lovely #michaelcarverphotography.
The Busy Bit Isn’t Quite Over Yet… It was another The Busy Bit Isn’t Quite Over Yet…

It was another busy week here at The Celebrant Angel’s office, and my wedding season is starting to wind down a wee bit.

There are still lots of lovely couples and ceremonies ahead, including a couple of new venues that I’m really looking forward to, so there’s plenty to keep me busy over the next few weeks. ❤️

I do have a wee weekend off coming up though, which I'm looking forward to.

And if the weather behaves itself, I might even get out on the bike for a bit.

Although I may have just jinxed it by mentioning it… 😂

Looking forward to this one, but there's a bit of pressure here, as Dad is a stand-up comedian.

Ahh thank you To Vicky and Kyle for their lovely Ahh thank you

To Vicky and Kyle for their lovely feedback about having me as their celebrant a few weeks ago.

They were a pleasure to work with; there was always a laugh at their house in our meetings.

The ceremony had a good dollop of humour in it, as these two were funny, and their little boy was so funny and came out with a cracking one-liner during the ceremony that had everyone laughing.

Their wedding was @thechesterhotel and was a small, intimate ceremony with just their close friends and family there.

Meet the Whites.. I had the pleasure of marrying Meet the Whites..

I had the pleasure of marrying the lovely Danielle and Calvin @Theriversidecafe in Dyce a couple of weeks ago, out in the little forest area with their closest friends and family.

Thankfully the rain held off until the ceremony was finished

Photos courtesy of #Rosscampbellphotography, another new face to me, and he was lovely too and captured the feel that Danielle and Calvin wanted for the wedding day.

Lets just do it That's what J&S are doing in Octo Lets just do it

That's what J&S are doing in October: a cracking wee ceremony in a garden with only a few people alongside them.

So your wedding doesn't have to be massive or cost a fortune, do it the way you want and if it's in the garden, beside a beach or wherever you fancy then thats what we do.

Looking forward to this one

Lovin this Retirement malarkey, I get to do what Lovin this

Retirement malarkey, I get to do what I love all day now, instead of fighting the corporate battles every day. (Now I'm just fighting the puppy bites all day).

I get to please myself when I clock on and off, and it's still early clock-on and clock-off, by the way, but I'm in a much happier place, sitting at my wee office desk writing scripts for couples.

And the 2027 and 2028 diary is filling up pretty fast, so that'll keep me out of mischief for a long while, hopefully.

So when you send the script out, always nervously, and get this back from the couples, then I know what I love doing they are loving to🥰

2nd wedding of the weekend And this one involves 2nd wedding of the weekend

And this one involves a day trip to one of my favourite places, St Andrews.

We're @kinkell_byre today, a place I've not been before but looks gorgeous.

The girls are excited to see their vision come to life and I hear there may be a rowdy bunch there, exactly what I like.

@sneaky_peek_media is doing the filming today, so a right family affair.

Let's talk speeches.. Over the last couple of yea Let's talk speeches..

Over the last couple of years, I’ve noticed more and more children and young adults giving a speech at their parents’ wedding, and honestly… I think it’s brilliant.

If they’re confident enough to stand up in front of everyone and say a few words, let them!

It doesn’t have to be polished. It doesn’t have to be perfectly written. It will be them and their view of your relationship

It might be funny, it might be emotional, or it might be a complete mixture of the two.

And that’s exactly what makes it so special.

Because these aren’t just any speeches. They’re from the people who have watched their parents’ relationship grow, who have seen the highs, the lows, the daftness and everything in between.

Imagine looking back on that wedding video years from now and hearing your son or daughter stand up, in their own words, and talk about the two of you.

That’s a memory you can’t recreate.

So if your child says, “I’d like to do a speech at your wedding”… let them

Don’t immediately worry about whether they’re too young, whether it’s going to be perfect, or whether they’ll get nervous.

Give them the opportunity, give them a microphone.

And maybe give them a wee bit of help beforehand… because nobody wants to discover halfway through that they’ve prepared a 47-minute documentary about Mum and Dad. 😂

But seriously, if they want to be part of your wedding in this way, let them have their moment too; you won't regret it.

Meet the Napiers A couple of weeks ago, I had the Meet the Napiers

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of marrying Sophie and Murray in The Stables Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Course.

It was my first time there, and it was beautiful and the perfect spot for Sophie and Murray and their guests.

They are a beautiful couple and were a pleasure to work with, and I love to see how the couple enjoys the ceremony on the day, even if there have been lots of nerves on the build-up, but this couple were as cool as cucumbers all the way through.

Wishing them lots of love and happiness for their future.

We're off to the forest today For Danielle and Ca We're off to the forest today

For Danielle and Calvin's ceremony @riversidedyce a place I've not been before. And weather permitting today we will be in the forest bit for the ceremony.

This one has the markings of great craic, as these two are mad as hatters, so can't wait to see how it all rolls today.
