Cluny Castle – Aberdeen Wedding Venue
the most majestic, secluded and enchanting venue
I’ve lived near this venue for over 20 years. And, to my shame, I’d never visited it. If you haven’t been yet, head to Cluny Castle for a stroll. It’s beautiful.
Cluny Castle is a stunning location for a wedding or even an elopement. Your guests will love the history, the grand architecture, and the stunning views.
If you’re just starting to plan your wedding and want something unique, this place is worth a look.
Want to get married in a Scottish castle? This is a venue made for small, intimate ceremonies on the edge of Aberdeen.
In May 2024, I had the pleasure of marrying Rowan and Martyn there.
Cluny Castle is a wee gem of a venue that brings real wow to any wedding.
So, let me tell you a bit more about it.
Renowned for its romance, and enchanting setting
A venue full of surprises
Cluny Castle is a stunning spot in Aberdeenshire for private, intimate weddings. It’s a magical place for fairytale weddings.
The castle was built hundreds of years ago but still remains the much-loved home of the Gordons of Cluny.
The grounds are beautifully kept.
And when you reach the top of the drive and the castle is before you it takes your breath away.
I’m pretty sure I lived in a castle in my previous life!
The Church
Rowan and Martyn held their ceremony in the church in Cluny Castle.
Cluny Castle has a stunning little chapel with a private courtyard entrance for weddings.
The day before the wedding, the sun was shining, and it lit up all the little crevices inside the church. It was happy that a wedding was taking place.
The stained glass windows are stunning, and the oak pews are perfect for seating up to 120 guests as they watch you exchange your vows.
I watched as the guests arrived and marvelled at the chapel and how beautiful it was.
Sleepovers
Cluny Castle is an all-exclusive wedding venue that can accommodate up to 28 guests, which was perfect for Rowan and Martyn’s family as many had travelled from England for the wedding.
So, as well as the chapel and the bedrooms, you have full use of the grounds during your stay.
Plenty of walks the next morning to chat over your wedding day.
Those little touches
The team at Cluny Castle were fantastic and went out of their way to ensure that Rowan and Martyn’s wedding was exactly as they imagined it to be.
Every detail was perfect for them, including the weather, the sun had disappeared but it didn’t rain the whole weekend, so the visitors from England got to see a piece of Aberdeenshire history at its best.
If you’re after a wedding steeped in Scottish history, Cluny Castle might be the place you’re looking for
You won’t be disappointed in the views, the chapel or the castle.
Tell them Mary (aka The Celebrant Angel) sent you
Of course, you will need a celebrant to create a unique ceremony for you on the day, too, so pop over for a chat and let’s see if your date is free in my diary.
