Leanne and Phil’s Wedding Day

by tca2023_1aq6g4 | Feb 10, 2023 | Love stories, real weddings

Leanne & Phil A Heartwarming Wedding This was a couples story that warmed the cockles of my heart. The story of a girl who didn’t think she deserved this much love. It’s a story of a couple who found each other by chance. A couple who believed...

A celebrant in Aberdeen for couples who want to laugh, love and legally tie the knot, I'm the girl to make your day memorable, fun and with meaning.

What's in a hug Weddings create two types of hugs What's in a hugWeddings create two types of hugs. The early ones and the after-party ones. The early hugs are gentle. People hover. They check your face. They try not to smudge anything.Someone pat your back like they are greeting a nervous puppy. Someone else gives you a quick squeeze, then fusses with your hair.Everyone means well.Everyone looks slightly terrified of creasing the outfit. Then the after-ceremony hugs arrive. A whole different game. All caution disappears.Someone will grab you with both arms and a bit of enthusiasm, and there will always be tearsAnother person will cling on long enough for you to wonder if they need directions back to their seat.I see these hugs every week. I love them. But these hugs do something simple. They show love in the most honest way. Some can be a bit messy. Some can be a bit chaotic... but they are always full of heart. You can't help smiling at everyone as you see them happenPhotos by Luke Beattie#weddinghugs #lukebeattie #allthelove #celebrantaberdeen #celebrantaberdeenshire #aberdeenweddings #emotions
There's always me... in the background. You get There's always me... in the background. You get your wedding photos back. You scroll through them with a big smile. Then you reach the signing shots. There I am. Again.I stand close during the signing part because I have a job to do regarding the legal paperwork.I guide you to the right line for your signature. If anyone tries to sign in the wrong spot, I'm in there faster than my dogs when a biscuit hits the floor.Make sure the fountain pens working properly, although that's checked long before I arrive on the day.I keep the schedule safe; make sure you don't spill any water on it, or it will slide to the floor.Once your names are exactly where they should be, and all 4 participants have signed the schedule, I step away.I duck, weave, and retreat so you get lovely photos with your witness. It is all part of keeping everything legal, smooth, and stress-free.And if my face pops up in a photo or two, take it as proof that you are legally married.#openbeliefsscotland #celebrantaberdeen #celebrantaberdeenshire #signingthepaperwork #marriageschedule #aberdeenweddingsupplier #legalmarriage
Bet you didn't know..... Whilst creating Martin a Bet you didn't know.....Whilst creating Martin and Leanne's ceremony this year, I learnt something new.We talked about rituals on one of our first calls, and the Quaich came up. "That's what we're doing," they said.Martin then told me his dad was a "Keeper of the Quaich." Bet you’ve never heard of that. I hadn’t.No, it’s not a made-up title. It’s one of the highest honours in the Scotch whisky world, given only to those who can tell single malts from blends. And there aren't many of them around, from what I can tell, so I feel very privileged to have had Steve along with us that day.So, naturally, I had to make sure I got that ritual right on the day (not that I ever do it wrong).Steve gave a heartfelt speech while the couple sipped their whisky, and then Steve and Leanne's dad took their sip as well to blend the 2 families.Leanne’s face was a picture; she doesn’t like whisky. I can’t wait to see if the photographer captured that.😅Anyone else ever come across a Keeper of the Quaich?#studiosnapweddings #aswanley #thequaich #quaichritual #keeperofthequich #celebrantaberdeen #celebrantaberdeenshire #weddingrituals #familyblending
What about the ring? Thinking about proposing wit What about the ring?Thinking about proposing with a ring? Or skipping rings altogether? Both are fine. There's no rule book. No wedding police. Some partners want to choose their own ring. If yours does, don’t let that hold you off from proposing.Ask first. Shop later.I've heard of lots of different things being used for the proposal from flowers, to haribos or even a watch. And if you want to do the whole ring thing but want to wait to let your partner choose their own then us an empty ring box for the occasion. The item is never the point. The moment is.You are telling your partner you want a life with them. That is what they remember.#proposalideas #engagedlife #romanticmoment #shesaidyes #hesaidyes #proposalinspo #lovestory #engagementplanning #scottishwedding #scottishcouple #celebrantaberdeen #aberdeenweddingsupplier #celebrantaberdeenshire

Weekend of travel for me this weekend. Off to Edi Weekend of travel for me this weekend.Off to Edinburgh today to see one of my couples who booked me as their celebrant for next year I can't wait to meet them in person. We're gonna take a wee gander at the xmas market too, obviously, as we haven't been to them before. Then off to Dundee on Sunday for a full day meeting with some lovely celebrants, can't wait to meet them all in person.
It's not about money A proposal doesn’t need a bi It's not about moneyA proposal doesn’t need a big budget. It doesn’t need noise or drama either. If anything, the noise will drown out the moment and the drama will empty your wallet. You want a moment you can look back on and smile. You want something the two of you will remember for the right reasons.Think about what you both enjoy. Think about what feels natural.Picture them for a second. How would they imagine being asked that question?Flashy doesn’t always mean meaningful.Go for something honest.Go for something that sounds like you.#proposal #gettingengaged #proposalideas #engagedlife #romanticmoment #shesaidyes #hesaidyes #proposalinspo #lovestory #engagementplanning #scottishwedding #scottishcouple #celebrantaberdeen #celebrantaberdeenshire
When the leaves glow, your photos do too. I blink When the leaves glow, your photos do too.I blinked, and a week has passed already since Leanne and Martin tied the knot.Time needs to slow down a tad.The colours at Aswanley looked incredible in this shot of the two of them.Brian and Paul managed to grab the last of the autumn display for their photos. I love this one.photos by studio snap weddings.#studiosnapweddings #aswanley #autumnwedding #aberdeenshireweddingvenue #winterwedding
Meet the Gannon Crew Leanne and Martin got marrie Meet the Gannon CrewLeanne and Martin got married on Saturday at Aswanley, another stunning wedding set in some stunning scenery. And I got to see some familiar faces in the run-up on the day, and some new ones too, which is always fun.First off, we were at Aswanley, a stunning Aberdeenshire wedding venue, my 2nd visit this year. It’s set in beautiful countryside and looked amazing again with a little bit of autumn colours still handing around, wonder what it looks like today in the snow. We had Claire as the co-ordinator on the day, and she was fabulous, she looked after us all really well on the day.Emma from Paper and Petals was there, swinging from the chandelier, well not really but she was setting up the flowers in them. The place smelt and looked beautiful with the colours and flowers that Leanne and Martin had picked.Next up, we have Julia Stronach, a stunning make-up artist, who leaves the bride and her wedding party looking fabulous for their big day. She’s a calming presence, so if you're nervous, she helps you settle and step out feeling confident for the walk down the aisle. It’s always nice to see her wee face when I arrive to see the bride. Then there was Brian and Paul from Studio Snaps in Glasgow, two cheeky boys, and you know I love a cheeky boy. Their first trip to Aswanley and not their last, they hope. I’ve seen the sneaky peeks, and their photos are stunning. Hope to see them again at a wedding for that bit of cheek, it's that cheek and chill factor that get the couples relaxed, which makes for fab photos. And then we have the beautiful Lauren on hair, another wee face with a huge smile that I love to see when I visit the bride at the start of the day. She’s amazing at what she does, and the wedding party turn up looking fabulous, can’t wait to see her in a place we can actually have a chat, she’s normally busy doing hair when I arrive, so I leave her to it.#aberdeenweddingvendors #julzstron #lpcreative_bridalhair #paperandpetals1 #studiosnapweddings#aswanley #autumwedding #aberdeenshireweddingvenue
Make the Proposal Fit Them Have you taken a prope Make the Proposal Fit ThemHave you taken a proper moment to think about what kind of proposal your partner would enjoy? You want the happy tears. Not the “why is this happening here” face.Ask yourself a few simple things.Do they enjoy attention, or would a crowd give them the ick?Would they love a big show, or would they prefer the two of you tucked away somewhere quiet?Would they want you to speak to their parents, or would that send everyone into mild panic? When you plan a proposal that suits them, everything feels smoother. They feel understood. You feel relaxed. They feel understood. That is when you get a strong yes and a story people love hearing.#'proposingtips #gettingengaged #celebrantaberdeen #aberdeenweddingsupplier #celebrantaberdeenshire #aberdeenweddings #celebrantangel
Where to propose? Thinking about where to pop the Where to propose?Thinking about where to pop the question?Don’t feel pressured to follow the crowd; this is a big day for you both, so do it your way on your day.Main points:Pick a spot that means something to you both, your favourite walk, a café you love, or where you had your first date.Special dates for you as a couple work better than “romantic” days from the calendar.Proposing is about making memories, not keeping up with everyone else.Sometimes the best proposals happen on a completely ordinary day, and that’s what makes it unforgettable.I didn't get engaged on a romantic day from the calendar, mine was somewhere special to us both.#proposal #marriageproposal #wheretopropose #celebrantaberdeen #aberdeenweddingsupplier #celebrantaberdeenshire
Whats on your head? Want something a little bit d Whats on your head?Want something a little bit different for your wedding outfit, ever thought about wearing a hat?Veils are classic. Hats are unforgettable.A hat on your wedding day shows confidence, style, and a little bit of fun. Wide brim, structured, or delicate fascinator, pick one that frames your face and complements your dress.Outdoor wedding? Spring ceremony? Or you simply want something a bit different, a hat does it all.Stand out without trying too hard.Your wedding look should be you. If a veil whispers tradition, a hat speaks your name. What would you choose for your wedding day outfit? I think i'd like photo 3, as it's got a bit of veil on it too, so best of both worlds.#weddinghats #brideshats #noveils #celebrantaberdeen #aberdeenweddingsupplier #celebrantaberdeenshire #

Dogs as Ring Bearers? Absolutely YES! I'm a mass Dogs as Ring Bearers? Absolutely YES! I'm a massive dog lover, and somehow I seem to be a magnet for couples with dogs, which is absolutely living the dream! So when a couple tells me they want their dog in their ceremony, I don't just agree... I'm basically already planning the entire entrance in my head.Because here's the thing, they're not just pets, they're FAMILY.They've been there through the late-night cuddles, the Netflix binges, the "nobody understands me but you" moments.Of course they should be there for this! I've had several ring-bearing dogs in ceremonies now, and every single time, it's GOLD.The moment that furry little VIP appears at the top of the aisle, usually in some adorable outfit that took three attempts to get on, the entire room loses it.The collective "awwww!" The couple's faces absolutely melting with love and pride. Someone's crying Will they walk in a perfectly straight line? Probably not.Might they stop to investigate a particularly interesting smell or demand attention from a guest? Almost definitely.Could they steal the show completely? Already happening. And that's what makes it PERFECT!This is your day, your family, your story , and if your story includes a four-legged best friend who's been with you through thick and thin, then they absolutely deserve their moment in the spotlight too. One for the mums Another one that I absolutely lo One for the mumsAnother one that I absolutely love using in a ceremony is giving the mums the role of ring bearer.Again, we don't tell them until the ceremony starts, and honestly, watching their wee faces light up with pride and delight at being given the role is one of my favourite moments. And they do the job so well, they hang on to those rings VERY tightly during the ceremony. I'm talking Fort Knox levels of security. No ring is getting lost on their watch! We did this at Emma and Ewan's wedding recently, and I've done it at a few other weddings too. It's such a simple gesture, but it means the world to them. It's a beautiful way to honour the women who've been there from the very beginning, from your first steps to walking you down the aisle. They helped raise you, they've loved you unconditionally, and now they get to literally hand you the symbol of your forever.#MumsAtWeddings #MotherOfTheBride #MotherOfTheGroom #WeddingMums #ProudMum #FamilyFirst #MumLife #HonouringMum #daniellesliephotograhy #celebrantaberdeen #celebrantaberdeenshire #aberdeenweddingsupplier
