From the very first chat, right up to the “I do”, they have been an absolute joy to work with. The kind of couple who make you laugh, make you feel part of it all, and remind me exactly why I love what I do. Thank you both for trusting me with such an important part of your story… it really does mean the world. And now comes the bit I’m never very good at… the goodbye. No more meetings, no more little updates about plans, no more “you’ll never guess what’s happened this week…” chats. It always feels a bit quiet afterwards. But the best part? How do you make a couple's ceremony feel personal? Honestly? That's the easy bit, and it's the part I absolutely love! First things first, I'll ask you what kind of vibe you're going for. Relaxed and laid-back? Romantic and intimate? Fun and a little chaotic (in the best way)? There's no wrong answer, it's YOUR day, and your ceremony should feel like YOU. Then comes the fun part. I'll walk you through loads of options to make your ceremony completely unique to you as a couple. We're talking everything from the words we use, to readings, rituals, personalised vows, little surprises for your guests, the works! No two couples are the same, so no two ceremonies should be either. My job is to help you figure out what feels right and then bring it all together in a way that has you excited when you read it for the first time. Claire and Richard's wedding was in the #socofadvocates in Aberdeen. A place I didn't even know existed, and I have to say that that was the first time I've ever been in a court building in my life, I've been a good girl 😁 And a big thank you to Jess, the co-ordinator on the day, for helping me and telling me a bit about the history of the building. Weddings used to come with a bit of an… unwritten Weddings used to come with a bit of an… unwritten rulebook. You know the one. Follow the script. Do things in the “right” order. Don’t rock the boat. But couples these days? They’ve quietly taken that rulebook… and popped it in the bin. Now it looks more like this: • Smaller weddings that actually feel like you • Weekday or even multi-day celebrations (why limit it to one day?) • Unplugged ceremonies… or at least a wee “phones away, be present” moment • Outfits that make you feel amazing, not just what you’re “supposed” to wear Because here’s the thing… This isn’t about putting on a performance anymore. It’s about creating a day that feels right when you’re in it. The laughs. The people. The moments you actually remember. Not just ticking boxes because someone, somewhere, once said you should. Whats for dinner? Another thing that’s changing a Whats for dinner? Another thing that’s changing at weddings these days… is the dinner. Are you going for a formal sit-down meal, or doing something a bit different like… • Sharing platters that get everyone chatting • Street food or food trucks (pizza, tacos, loaded fries… yes please) • Grazing tables you can dip in and out of (my favourite as i love a picnic) • A relaxed buffet where people eat when they’re ready Because weddings aren’t just about tradition anymore… they’re about atmosphere. And sometimes the best moments happen when people are passing plates, stealing chips off each other, and going back for “just one more” 😄 So… what you having? Three courses and speeches, or something a little more laid-back and fun?

When I'm with my couples, especially at the rehearsal, there's always that moment. One of them turns to the other and says, "You better be crying when you see me." (Note to self: keep a wee pin in my pocket… just in case I need to encourage a tear or two ) Some couples love the tradition, saving that first look for the aisle, the big reveal, the full audience. The gasp. The moment. Then there are the ones who say, "Absolutely not. I'll be a nervous wreck. I need to see them before." So, they sneak away for a quiet first look before the ceremony instead. Honestly? Both are magical. Either way… someone's gonna be crying. It's just a question of when. 😏 So which camp are you in? #firstlook
