Aswanley – Aberdeenshire Wedding Venue
A Secluded Highland Estate Offering Exclusive Use for Your Wedding Day
2025 saw my first visits to Aswanley, a stunning wedding venue just a short drive from Aberdeen.
Are you just starting out planning your wedding and looking for the right venue?
We’ll let me take you to a venue that blends history with ease. – Aswanley in bonnie Aberdeenshire
A 17th-century fortified house sits alongside a beautifully renovated Victorian steading, giving you space to celebrate in a way that feels right for you.
From small, intimate gatherings to big celebrations with up to 250 of your favourite people.
The steading sits within mature gardens and acres of stunning grounds.
Everywhere you look, offers another photo moment.
More importantly, it gives you and your guests room to relax, wander, gather, and truly enjoy the day.
a venue nothing short of
perfect
All yours
At Aswanley, you get a space with real presence.
High ceilings. Original features. Spaces for inside or outdoor ceremonies.
And it’s all yours for the day.
It’s a favourite with the photographers as it has amazing spots for your photos after the ceremony too.
The Ceremony Room
The indoor ceremony room is gorgeous
As a celebrant, the ceremony room in a venue matters.
It sets the tone and holds the emotions.
At Aswanley, the ceremony room is a bright, spacious room with high ceilings and a large fireplace.
Although thankfully not lit for the ceremony, or I could have a very warm bottom.
This room works well for both small weddings and larger guest numbers.
The layout of the room makes it easy for everyone to see and hear the ceremony.
And to top it all off, there is a stag’s head watching over all the celebrations, and hes been decorated to match the wedding colours when I’ve been there.
The Accommodation
The Clatterin Brig accommodation is where my brides have stayed the night before the wedding, and OM goodness I’d go there on holiday.
It sleeps 6 to 8 people, it’s massive and beautifully decorated.
Set in a peaceful spot on a bend of the River Deveron, this charming new cottage sits surrounded by beautiful countryside.
The perfect spot for you and your party to get ready for the big day.
Aswanly is the perfect spot for any wedding in Aberdeen/shire that I would highly recommend.
And its dog friendly to
Tell them Mary (aka The Celebrant Angel) sent you
Of course, you will need a celebrant to create a unique ceremony for you on the day, too, so pop over for a chat and let’s see if your date is free in my diary.
