Thainstone House – Aberdeenshire Wedding Venue
A venue set in a picturesque and tranquil setting
January 2025 was my first visit to Thainstone House, a stunning wedding venue a few miles from Aberdeen.
Are you just starting out planning your wedding and looking for the right venue?
We’ll let me take you to a venue that’s perfect for weddings – Thainstone House in Aberdeenshire.
Thainstone House is a charming blend of elegance and relaxation, perfect for a wedding.
Thainstone House is an 18th century grand mansion. It’s a picture-perfect spot for you and your guests to soak up the day’s magic—whatever the season.
The perfect spot to hold your wedding with a fantastic wedding team and where service is second to none.
So let me tell you a bit more about having a wedding at Thainstone House.
a classic wedding venue
The Lairds Room
The Laird’s room is perfect if you’re having a smaller intimate ceremony.

The Ballroom
The ballroom is for larger weddings with the capacity to hold 150 people and lots of windows out into the beautiful gardens.
The Green Lady
If you were a bride that fancied a long walk down the aisle and lots of natural daylight then The Green Lady might suit for your ceremony.
It holds up to 100 guests.

Sleepovers
Thainstone House has 48 bedrooms spread across 3 floors so plenty room for many of your guests to sleepover to.
It is also pet friendly which is a bonus for the dog owners amongst us.
Relaxing

There are lots of little nooks and crannies at Thainstone House for you to sit and catch your breath, or get some photos.
Those little touches
Thainstone House has a 13 metre swimming pool and a jacuzzi.
There’s a gym if you fancy a wee run or a workout before the ceremony (although not to be recommended on the day )
There’s also an outdoor oak-barrel sauna and hot tub, perfect to finish your celebrations the day after as a married couple.
Thainstone House is the perfect spot for a variety of sized weddings in Aberdeen/shire that I would highly recommend
Tell them Mary (aka The Celebrant Angel) sent you
Of course, you will need a celebrant to create a unique ceremony for you on the day, too, so pop over for a chat and let’s see if your date is free in my diary.
