Union Kirk – Aberdeen Wedding Venue
An old church gone rogue
June 2024 was my first visit to Union Kirk, and boy is it an amazing wedding venue.
Union Kirk started its life as a kirk, as the name suggests, but it has been a few things over its time before it became a wedding venue.
Perhpas you’ve been in it when it was a casino, that’s the last time I was in it many years ago.
Are you just starting out planning your wedding and looking for the right venue?
We’ll let me take you to a venue that’s perfect for weddings – Union Kirk, right in the middle of Aberdeen.
From breathtaking stained-glass windows to the soaring vaulted ceiling and intricate cornicing, every detail whispers of its rich history.
Your guests will enter through the arched entrance and onto the grand staircase into the venue space.
The first time I entered the whole space, light entering through the stained glass window and the seating took my breath away, and that was seeing it before all the decor was in place.
A perfect stunning backdrop for your wedding pictures.
So lets have a look at Union Kirk and why its a stunning wedding venue in Aberdeen.
a unique and modern setting
The Ceremony
The room where your ceremony is held is stunning and can hold up to 300 guests.
It’s large, bright and filled with beautiful backdrops and stained glass windows, perfect for those photos.
The venue, the food and the staff are brilliant and all come together beautifully to create the day that you want for you and your guests.

Reception Dinner
The reception area is the perfect spot for kicking off the celebrations with your nearest and dearest.
Sip on drinks, nibble on canapés, and let your photographer work their magic, capturing those little moments you’ll treasure forever.
Then, it’s time to head into the beautiful Grand Hall for your wedding breakfast—where the real party begins!
The Party
After dinner the grand ball room is then turned into the room where your going to celebrate with all your friends and family to seal the deal.
It has a dance floor with adjustable lighting for an unforgettable evening.

Union Kirk is the perfect spot for a variety of sized weddings in Aberdeen that I would highly recommend
