Elrick House – Aberdeen Wedding Venue
A venue full of history and romance.
I’ve had the pleasure of doing a couple of weddings at Elrick House over the last couple of years. My first visit was with Leah and Ben in 2023 and more recently for Yvonne and Stuart in 2024
A stunning all-inclusive wedding venue set in beautiful grounds, it is the perfect setting for your ceremony and offers plenty of photo opportunities for your wedding day.
Are you just starting out planning your wedding and looking for the right venue?
We’ll let me take you to a venue that’s perfect for weddings – Elrick House.
Elrick House is about 12 miles from the city centre of Aberdeen on the outskirts of Newmachar.
Elrick is also a Gin distillery, so if you are a fan of G&T’s, you’re sorted.
A venue with options where you can choose to have an indoor ceremony or an outdoor one.
And that’s a good choice to have in Aberdeen as you never know what the weathers going to do.
So let me tell you a bit more about having a wedding at Elrick House.
A Historic building, with more than a touch of romance.
Out door ceremony
Elrick House offers several stunning options for a wedding ceremony, the most popular of which is the marquee in front of the house.
And this isn’t just any marquee. It’s spacious, bright, and airy, designed to host both your ceremony and reception in one convenient location.
One standout feature is the balcony just outside the marquee, perfect for your band to set up, so there’s no need to shuffle guests from one room to another to enjoy the full celebration.
If the sun’s shining, the sides open up to let in the fresh air, ensuring no one overheats. And the sides close up for those inevitable Aberdeen rainy days to keep everyone cosy and dry.
The marque at Elrick House has a couple of different bits inside it.
Theres the bit where the ceremony is held, with a stunning view behind me which is light and airy and the sides can be open or closed, a perfect any kinda weather option.
Then there’s the bar in the middle of the room which divides all the areas nicely
The Dining
And then theres the eating bit, and its gorgeous.
It’s at the opposite end of the ceremony (which then becomes your dance floor).
Again, it’s lovely and airy and can be set up in a multitude of ways.
Amy from Cymbeline Events takes great care of you and your guests and does all the decor at Elrick House.
Sleepovers
Elrick House itself sleeps 22 people.
Depending on the size of your wedding party (and which of your besties you want by your side), Elrick House has plenty of room to accommodate most of them.
Plus, other accommodations are nearby for the rest of your guests, so no one will feel left out.
Elrick House is the perfect spot for a variety of sized weddings in Aberdeen/shire that I would highly recommend.
And it’s a dog-friendly venue too, so your pups can go along with you for the weekend.
Tell them Mary (aka The Celebrant Angel) sent you
Of course, you will need a celebrant to create a unique ceremony for you on the day, too, so pop over for a chat and let’s see if your date is free in my diary.
