Rowan and Martyn’s wedding
Rowan and Martyn came all the way from England to get married in a Scottish Castle.
They choose Cluny Castle as their venue and it was stunning.
Their wedding was beautiful and Rowan and her girlfriends did a lot of the decor themselves over the winter.
They are a beautiful couple very much in love and in tune with each other, and a joy to work with.

The truth is that marriage at the start is an empty box.
You must put something in before you can take anything out.
There is no love in marriage.
Love is in people.

The key to love is …
Hold tight to one another through good times and bad and watch as your strength grows.

Date & Venue
Cluny Castle 4th May 2024 was the date and venue for Rowan and Martyn’s wedding.
And a stunning setting for a girl who wanted a Scottish castle wedding.
The chapel in the castle is out of this world.

THE COUPLE
A lovliler couple you couldn’t meet.
Rowan was so laid back and very organised. They have been together for a few years and have had many adventures in their time together.

wedding party
All the wedding guests were lovely and were in total awe of the castle and the chapel.
They joined in when we needed them to and there were tears as well as laughter.
A cracking place to lay their heads after their journeys from England.

ceremony
Rowan and Martyn wanted a ceremony that celebrated their lives together, and because they were chilled and relaxed that’s what we had.
We included a handfasting in the ceremony made with climbing ropes which is a hobby of theirs
Their Story
first date
Rowan and Martyn had been workmates for a while before they went on their first date to a local bar, very low key.
But it wan’t really a first date they said, it was a wee test run, see how they got on a partners.
proposal
Martyn proposed during covid. He had to entice Rowan away from her computer by ordering her a pizza.
And whilst they were tidying up he got down on that special knee.
the family
What a beautiful, calm, loving family Rowan and Martyn have.
There were jokes between them all during the day and they loved the castle.
Mary made our ceremony very intimate and personal which was everything we wanted.
My husband and I were together over 10 years before we got married so we felt like we didn’t need a lot of the traditional vows.
Mary created the most magical speech which included a hand fasting ritual.
The ceremony went smoothly, Mary who also looked beautiful was very caring, kind, cheerful on the day which was just lovely (especially if you have wedding nerves).
We’re both so grateful to have her marry us. We had loads of compliments from our guests on the speech Mary read as it was completely personalised to my husband and I.
Thank you Mary, the whole process from beginning to end was so relaxed and organised.
We can’t thank you enough.
